With its golden facade arching toward the sky, Wynn Las Vegas provides a unique fusion of nature and luxury. From the towering mountain at the front of the resort on the Las Vegas Strip to the Tom Fazio-designed 18-hole championship golf course at the back, natural beauty permeates Wynn Las Vegas.

Lagoons, waterfalls, terraced landscapes, floor-to-ceiling windows, and skylights throughout the 217-acre resort create a tranquil environment. Fine dining, swank shops, a rejuvenating spa and thriving nightlife round out the resort experience.

Flowers bloom throughout the Wynn property, both living and as part of the design. An indoor atrium near the lobby leads guests through a pathway of flowers and trees. Even the carpet in the 110,000-square-foot casino – which has more than 1,900 slots, a 26-table poker room and a full array of tables games – portrays a colorful and thematic flower pattern.

The marriage of luxury and nature at Wynn Las Vegas does not end with the resort’s main level. Guests ascending the 50-story hotel tower will discover rooms designed with floor-to-ceiling windows framing sweeping views of either the Las Vegas Strip, the resort’s golf course or the lake and mountain. Room amenities include European linens, flat-screen televisions in the living and bathroom areas, high-speed internet access and more.

The luxurious Tower Suites, which operate as a boutique hotel within the Wynn Las Vegas, is the first in Las Vegas to earn Mobil Travel Guide’s highest rating – five stars. In granting the coveted rating, Mobil praised the Tower Suites for its fine, white-glove service and accommodations that feel like posh private residences.

Restaurants at the Wynn such as Alex, Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare, and SW Steakhouse include offerings from internationally celebrated chefs, including Alessandro Stratta, David Walzog, Masa Ishizawa and Paul Bartolotta. For a more casual dining experience, The Buffet features 16 live-action exhibition cooking stations, Pizza Place offers quick-service pizzas, sandwiches and salads and Zoozacrackers, near the 195-seat race and sports book, serves New York-style deli food.

A glimpse of the gardens, on the other side of the man-made mountain, reveals a mammoth curtain waterfall pouring into the 3-acre Lake of Dreams which features a nightly light, music and multimedia show. Guests can enjoy the breathtaking view while sipping cocktails amid an eclectic collection of multi-colored upside-down parasols at Parasol Up on the casino level or Parasol Down on the lake level; or just stop by the circular escalators surrounding the bars for a moment to take it all in.

Making its home at the Wynn is Le Rêve, the sublime aquatic creation of Cirque Du Soleil veteran Franco Dragone.

Wynn Las Vegas’ nightlife offerings include the boutique nightclub Blush and Tryst, with its secluded lagoon and sizeable dance floor. A beautifully landscaped, expansive outdoor pool complex has two main pools, private cabanas, table games and a special terrace for group events. The Wynn Las Vegas Spa features 45 treatment rooms as well as a full-service salon, barbershop and fitness center.

The hotel’s elegant sister property, Encore, is located adjacent to the Wynn, with two entry points from inside the hotel.

Where else but the Wynn Las Vegas can a shopper leave a hotel with Manolo Blahniks and a brand new Ferrari? The Wynn Esplanade offers a unique shopping experience with stores including Chanel, Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta and many more. The resort is also home to the Penske Wynn Ferrari Maserati dealership and showroom.

Vegas is a GREAT place for adult vacation, but I would not recommend for children. There are things to do in Las Vegas that kids can do but a lot of the advertisement is geared towards adults. Plus, taking kids through the casino with all the smoke and gambling is not a good idea. But, if you must go on that family vacation to Las Vegas with your children, below I have recommendations on things that kids can do.

See dolphins at the Mirage. This 2.5-million-gallon Dolphin Habitat is home to a family of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. Its purpose is to provide a healthy and nurturing environment for dolphins, as well as to educate the public about marine mammals and their environment – including their role in the ecosystem. Guided tours for the public are conducted throughout the day.

Take a ride on the Manhattan Express at New York-New York. With heights of 203 feet, drops of 144 feet and speeds up to 67 MPH, this attraction adds new meaning to the phrase “let it ride!” It features the world’s first “heartline” twist and dive maneuver, allowing riders to experience the thrilling force of negative g’s! Simulating a barrel-roll in a jet fighter, it rolls 180 degrees, hangs 86 feet in the air, then dives back under itself- promising dizzying excitement!

Kink your neck as you watch the world’s tallest and biggest lightshow at Fremont Street Experience. Imagine a spectacular computer generated Light and Sound show projected from a space frame 90 feet above you. The Fremont Street Experience is a four-block long canopy that covers the downtown Las Vegas area and serves as a display system for the shows. The canopy houses 2.1 million lights, capable of producing millions of color combinations and 540,000 watts of concert-quality sound. The shows are run by 36 computers and are accompanied by 218 speakers.

Tap the window at the Lion Habitat at MGM Grand. Situated inside the resort’s Strip entrance off Las Vegas Boulevard adjacent to its entertainment dome, the Habitat is a 5,000 square foot showcase of lofty simulated jungle complete with waterfalls, enclosed in 240 degrees of floor-to-ceiling protective glass that enables the public to view a variety of lions at play and leisure. Handlers utilize only voice and hand signals to direct the lion’s movement. Members of the family of lions appear in sequence for periods of no more than six hours at a time before returning to their spacious, permanent homes on an 8 1/2-acre ranch outside of Las Vegas.

Scare yourself in the CinemaRide at Caesars Palace. Cinema Ride brings you the most technologically advanced motion simulator rides available today. Using real, military-quality flight simulators for the motion systems. All of your experiences feature a patented 3-D ride film system which make you feel as though you’re right in the middle of the action.

Vegas Travel
By Ken Marlborough

Las Vegas is the most populous city in the state of Nevada. The city has a reputation for being one of the wildest places on the planet, and, for this reason, it is also known as “Sin City.” Las Vegas is a very popular tourist city because of its legalized gambling, availability of alcoholic beverages at any time, and so on.

It was in the beginning of the nineteenth century (1905) that Las Vegas was established, and it formally became a city in 1911. In the early 1900s, the city became famous as a railroad town. During the twentieth century, Las Vegas evolved into one of the largest cities in the country. The expansion of the railroads and the building of the Hoover Dam infused new life into Las Vegas. The completion of the Hoover Dam resulted in federal dollars being converted to tourist dollars. Las Vegas has some wonderful neighborhoods, such as Green Valley, Summerlin, Henderson, Red Rock, Anthem, and Southern Highlands.

The city takes pride in some of its famous places, which a tourist must include in his itinerary. One of these is the main university of Southern Nevada, The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, which came into being in 1957. The university has its main campus in North Las Vegas. The city’s popular museums include the Guinness World of Records Museum; Liberace Museum, Las Vegas Art Museum; Nevada State Museum and Historical Society, which demonstrates Nevada’s history; and Las Vegas Natural History Museum, which displays wildlife and dinosaur exhibits.

Las Vegas is also a traditional city that provides many privileges for senior citizens. Tourists love to travel to Las Vegas for its late night bars and clubs, to watch the best shows, to gamble in the best casinos, and to enjoy themselves in its bachelor-party strip clubs. About 36 million people visit Las Vegas every year, and some even try to settle down permanently. The fact is that Las Vegas leaves a lasting impression on people’s attitudes. For many families in the world, Las Vegas is the favored destination. Thus, amazing Las Vegas, which offers complete satisfaction, is one of the best tourist destinations in the world.

1) Spa Bellagio at The Bellagio, Las Vegas

Spa Bellagio recently had a makeover that doubled its size to 55,000 square feet and 54 treatments rooms. One signature treatment is watsu where a therapist cradles you in a special pool of water heated to your body temperature. The hotel is styled after a Tuscan town, with an extravagant fountain timed to music out front a colorful Dale Chihuly sculpture in the lobby. http://www.bellagio.com

2)Canyon Ranch SpaClub At The Venetian, Las Vegas

Even in the heart of Las Vegas there’s a true spa retreat where you can eat a healthy meal, scale a 40 foot rock-climbing wall, hear lectures on nutrition AND get a great massage, Canyon Ranch style. The hotel has an indoor shopping area modeled after Venice, complete with canals and gondolas, and restaurants by top chefs like Emeril Lagasse.

3) Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas The Four Seasons is an elegant oasis on the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay building, and guests have full use of those facilities. The Four Seasons has its own spa with 16 treatments rooms and a large steam room facility. Its specialty is JAMU, a meditative massage that combines Hindu, Chinese and European techniques. Choose your own exotic oils – Island Fruits, Island Spice or Island Flowers. www.fourseasons.com

4) Spa Vita di Lago, The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas This 30,000 square-foot spa has 24 treatment rooms and is known for its “Spa 101” package, a four-treatment sampler and gentle spa-going tutorial for the “spa shy.” It also offers guided programs in stargazing, hiking and mountain biking. It is the only spa in the U.S. with “La Culla” a multi-sensory steam cocoon treatment. Info About Ritz Carlton

5) Spa Mandalay at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas
Mandalay Bay has an opulent Indian theme, and Spa Mandalay specializes in Ayurvedic body treatments like Shirodhara. But you can also get all your favorites at the 30,000 square-foot spa – Swedish, hot stone, and salt glows. Filled with aquariums, this resort is perfect for water lovers. Four swimming pools (including a wave pool) and 11-acre beach are out back. www.mandalaybay.com

Wynn Las Vegas

This is the newest luxury hotel to hit The Strip. Steve Wynn has done it again, only this time even more elegantly and luxurious, with original works of art by Van Gogh & Picasso and such upscale boutiques as Chanel and Louis Vuitton. This gleaming bronze tower even has its own Tom Fazio-designed golf course. The oversized rooms are contemporary and very stylish, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, flat screen TV’s and large marble baths.

Four Seasons, Las Vegas

The Four-Seasons is a one-of-a-kind experience in Vegas, far removed for the hustle and bustle of the Strip, yet only an elevator ride away. This gorgeous, elegant hotel is actually on the 35-39 floors of the Mandalay Bay Resort, yet this “hotel within a hotel” is surprisingly separate and offers incredible views in a non-gaming environment. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated.

The Bellagio Hotel

This Mediterranean Villa-style hotel has long been admired as a place of beauty and elegance. From the moment you enter the exquisite lobby, with its glass sculpture masterpiece soaring above you, to its spectacular botanical gardens, you know that you have arrived to a luxurious environment of elegance, opulence, relaxation, and excitement.

Skylofts at MGM Grand

Skylofts is a luxury Boutique Hotel that recently opened, located on the top two floors of the MGM Grand. It was created to be a private sanctuary, with amazing views and the utmost in luxury and service. The units are one-, two-, and three-bedroom “loft-style” units, featuring ultra-contemporary furnishings and 2-story windows. The incredible bath has an infinity-edge tub and a waterfall shower.

The hotel at Mandalay Bay

The hotel is a newer, stand-alone tower at the Mandalay Bay Resort. This cosmopolitan and sophisticated hotel has a chic, understated feel about it. The “suite-style” rooms are huge, over 750sf, with a separate sleeping area, modern furnishings, marble & granite baths and plasma TV’s. Their restaurant and swanky lounge “Mix” is situated high atop the hotel and a definite hotspot.

The Venetian Hotel

The Venetian Resort is a tribute to Italian opulence, with its polished marble floors, domed ceilings, roman columns and various statues throughout. The rooms are spacious and have marble baths. You can spend your entire trip here, trying out the various different gourmet restaurants, such as Lutece and Postrio, each night, then relax in the Canyon Club spa/gym during the day.

Caesars Palace

Caesars Palace has played host to celebrities and high-rollers since its opening in 1966. Since then it has greatly expanded into four towers and two casinos. The world-class gaming casino is truly an experience, with its dark, elegant atmosphere. I have always loved the opulent Garden-of -the Gods, a 4 ½-acre pool area with roman statues, marble columns and private cabanas.

Mirage Hotel

The Mirage is a tropical paradise filled with colorful flowers and plants and home to an incredible erupting volcano show nightly. The lagoon-shaped pool is fantastic, complete with waterslides, waterfalls, lagoons and islands, all set among a variety of lush topical plants and trees. Take a peek at the White Tiger Habitat exhibit, and for a small charge you can visit the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat.

Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino

This Parisian-themed hotel features Paris landmarks, storefronts and even the Eiffel Tower. Outside you can dive into their amazing 11-acre tropical sand beach, complete with waves, or into one of their 3 outdoor pools. There is a fabulous spa and the Shark Reef aquarium. At night you can dine at one of the many restaurants, including the highly acclaimed “3950″ or “Mix” atop THEhotel Tower.

Paris Las Vegas

Driving down the Strip, you can’t miss the Paris Las Vegas Hotel with its ½ scale replica of the Eiffel Tower outside. Visitors can take an elevator ride to the top for some fantastic views, or have French cuisine on the 11th floor. Inside the hotel features other famous Paris landmarks as well as a Parisian street scene, complete with roving Frenchmen and “outdoor” cafes.

Botero – named for the South American painter, sculptor, and artist Fernando Botero. Botero Steak has the artistic style of the artist with paintings on the walls and a tremendous sculpture of a rotund woman in the center of the restaurant. Botero’s signature curvatures are present in everything from the silverware to the menu, giving the restaurant a gastronomic design and feel. Immediately, diners realize this isn’t any ordinary steakhouse; Botero Steak is sleek, modern, and sophisticated, with a circular dining room that overlooks the Encore pools and integrates into XS Nightclub.

Helmed by Chef Mark LaRusso, Botero Steak emphasizes steak, with fresh seafood and appetizer offerings. For a tasty but light appetizer to the main dish, the restaurant offers tartare and crudo selections along with salads, soups, and other seafood appetizers. We recommend the Dungeness Crab Agnolotti, served with artichoke and a lemon emulsion sauce. Or, for a massive starter fit for a group, order the Shellfish Tower, an impressive spread of select oysters, gulf prawns, Maine lobster, and crab.

The entrees at Botero are more filling and equally delicious, with the main offering consisting of steak, served in your style of choice from peppersteak, chimichurri, and traditional. For a satisfying meal for two, try the Chateaubriand, a moist and perfectly cooked thick tenderloin cut that comes beautifully presented in a copper pot. For those wishing to dine on something different, however, Botero offers a few surf and turf entrees as well. The Olive Oil-Poached Halibut is a simple but delicious meal served with haricot verts, fingerling potatoes, and warm balsamic vinaigrette.

Many sides are available to accompany each generous entrée, including LaRusso’s signature tater tots, with its perfectly cooked crispy exterior and its well-seasoned interior. The truffle macaroni and cheese is also a popular side dish, a creamy delight that you may find yourself finishing long before your steak.

Botero Steak is set to become one of Las Vegas’ most popular steakhouses, with its fresh, modern artwork and hearty, satisfying dishes. One can also visit the chic XS Nightclub next door, several trendy and flavorsome nights out are sure to begin at Botero Steak.
